Uniquely perfecting the female figure through an unconventional, graceful and dynamic
approach is what makes figurative artist, Michael Carson a standout in the Contemporary art
world. Juxtaposing a muted color palette with rich pattern and lush dark elements, Carson
achieves a powerful sense of depth. His haunting images have a design aspect: a flatness and a
layered effect simultaneously. Provocative and powerful, there is no mistaking his style.
Emphasizing the relationships of color and light, Carson allows the texture of his brush
stroke to move a viewer’s eye through the art.
Michael Carson was born in 1972 in Minneapolis, MN. A 1996 graduate of Minneapolis Institute
of Art and Design, he has professionally pursued his painting career focusing on his creative
process of painting. His contemporary views on painting have been featured in many art
publications. His artwork can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad. He has exhibited his art in New York, Scottsdale, Carmel and Los Angeles.

England for over 30 years.
